The Datil is a small, oblong chilli known for its intense heat and bright, fruity flavour. Pods ripen from green to golden orange and deliver heat in the 100,000–300,000 SHU range. Originating from St. Augustine, Florida, this Capsicum chinense variety is prized for its balance of heat and sweetness, making it ideal for sauces, relishes, and seafood dishes. Plants grow well in warm conditions and produce heavily through summer, typically fruiting within 100–120 days.

Seeds Quality
Every seed we sell is grown at the ChilliChump homestead, so we control the whole process from sowing to harvest. Seeds are handpicked from healthy plants, processed using methods we’ve refined over the years, and germination-tested before they reach you.
Keeping our seed true to type is something we work hard at. The only way to truly isolate a chilli variety, though, is to grow it with no other chilli plant within a quarter of a mile to a mile, and no grower with a collection can do that. So we don’t claim 100% purity. The chance of a stray cross is small. If something grows out differently to what you expected, please get in touch. We’d rather hear about it than not.

For refunds, returns or if there is any problem with your order, please contact us and include your order number.
If you would like to return your product for a refund, the item must unopened and in its original condition. Refunds are accepted up to 60 days after purchase.
If our products arrived damaged, rotten or contaminated in any way, please contact us right away and we will be happy to send a free replacement or refund regardless of its expiration date.
Occasionally seeds produce something that is not “true to type”, or you may have less than satisfactory germination rates. If this happens please get in contact and let us know the details. We want you to be a happy customer. We will do our best to help, and will provide a refund for the seeds if you are still dissatisfied.
