The Kimchi Pepper, commonly known as Gochugaru, is a staple in Korean cuisine, celebrated for its moderate heat and vibrant red hue. With a Scoville Heat Unit (SHU) range of 10,000 to 20,000, it offers a balanced spiciness that enhances dishes without overwhelming the palate. The peppers are typically sun-dried and ground into coarse flakes, imparting a slightly smoky and sweet flavour profile. Essential in the preparation of traditional kimchi, Gochugaru is also used to add depth to stews, marinades, and sauces. This Capsicum annuum variety thrives in warm climates and requires well-drained soil, with a growing period of approximately 70 to 80 days from transplanting to harvest.

While we use isolation methods for our seeds that are more stringent than many others in the industry, there is still a small risk of cross pollination or genetic regression (especially for newer hybrids). The only way to TRULY isolate chilli varieties is to grow just one variety within a quarter-mile to a mile radius from any other chilli pepper variety. For refunds, returns or if there is any problem with your order, please contact us and include your order number.

If you would like to return your product for a refund, the item must unopened and in its original condition. Refunds are accepted up to 60 days after purchase.

If our products arrived damaged, rotten or contaminated in any way, please contact us right away and we will be happy to send a free replacement or refund regardless of its expiration date.

Occasionally seeds produce something that is not “true to type”, or you may have less than satisfactory germination rates. If this happens please get in contact and let us know the details. We want you to be a happy customer. We will do our best to help, and will provide a refund for the seeds if you are still dissatisfied.

Ten seeds purchased 10 seeds germinated no problem. Lovely strong healthy seedlings. I will
only buy my chilli seeds from chilli chump in the future. Not fruited as yet but I’ve grown chillies for a number of years and this is my best result for germination so far. I am looking forward to tasting these chillies and adding them to my homemade Kimchi. So thank you chilli chump for some great seeds. ( Great YouTube tips for growing too)

Update …. Fantastic plants 4-4.5 feet tall loaded with fruit. Remarkable plants love them. Only one problem I didn’t expect them to grow so big and bushy they could have done with a bit more room but all’s great so far. But I will have to make space soon.
