The varieties in this years seed kit:

CC Fushimi (Sweet)

These CC Fushimi seeds are from a Fushimi plant I have been selectively breeding to have some unique traits! It starts out with variegated, asymmetrical leaves. When the chillies started to appear there is a distinct striping, which faded as they ripened to red (but are still barely visible). The flavour is as you would expect from a Fushimi, delicious!

Kimchi Pepper – Gochugaru (Mild)

If you love Kimchi as much as I do, this chilli is essential! I have been looking for a great “Kimchi” Pepper for a while now, and finally found it. It has a delicious flavour, perfect heat level, and fantastic colour. This plant is easy to grow, and should give you an abundant harvest of beautiful chillies ready to make some delicious Kimchi.

Chinesicher Runzelhaut (Mild)

The Chinesicher Runzelhaut is a new variety for me this year, and it quickly proved itself. It fruited very early and produced an abundance of large, heavily wrinkled pods that turn a rich red when ripe. These striking, twisted chillies are not just visually impressive but also deliver a moderate heat with a clean, slightly sharp flavour. It’s great for fresh dishes, pickling or mild sauces. It grows well in pots or beds with good light and regular warmth.

Rocoto Manzano (Hot)

Rocoto Manzano is part of the Capsicum Pubescens species of chillies. Pubescens refers to the hairy leaves and stems of this species. It has a very thick flesh, and is super sweet and juicy. But don’t be fooled, it has a good amount of spice to it too! It has been rated at various times between 15,000 up to 100,000 Scoville!

CC Chonky Cayenne (Hot)

The CC Chonky Cayenne one I have selectively bred from the traditional cayenne, developed for its larger, meatier pods while retaining the classic cayenne heat and flavour. This Capsicum annuum variety grows vigorously and fruits reliably through the season, making it a solid choice for home growers and sauce makers alike.

MA Warthog (EXTREMELY HOT)

The MA Warthog is a superhot Capsicum chinense bred by Matthew Arthur from a Wartryx × 7 Pot Primo cross. This is an unstable variety, so you can expect variation in pod shape and size. The seeds I’m offering here come from the monster plant I featured through my 2025 growing season on YouTube. Its also the same plant I got the pod from that I tried on livestream, resulting in the hottest chilli I have ever eaten.

The Buena Mulata chilli is a captivating heirloom variety renowned for its vibrant colour transformation and notable heat. Originating from the United States, this pepper was popularised by African-American artist Horace Pippin in the 1940s.

The slender, cayenne-shaped fruits measure approximately 15 to 18 centimetres in length. They begin as a striking violet hue, transitioning through shades of pink, orange, and brown before reaching a deep red upon full maturity. This dynamic colour progression not only enhances visual appeal but also indicates the pepper’s ripening stages.

In terms of heat, the Buena Mulata registers between 30,000 to 50,000 Scoville Heat Units (SHU), placing it on par with traditional cayenne peppers. Beyond its heat, it offers a sweet, slightly smoky flavour, making it a versatile addition to various culinary dishes. Its unique appearance and flavour profile make it suitable for salsas, pickling, and as a colourful garnish.

Cultivating the Buena Mulata is relatively straightforward. The plant thrives in full sun and well-draining soil, reaching up to 60 centimetres in height. It is known for its prolific yield, producing an abundance of peppers throughout the growing season.

The Chinese 5 Colour chilli is a vibrant Capsicum annuum variety renowned for its ornamental appeal and medium heat. Its compact, bushy plants produce conical peppers that transition through five stunning colours—purple, cream, yellow, orange, and red—as they mature. With a Scoville Heat Unit (SHU) range of 30,000 to 50,000, these chillies offer a heat level comparable to cayenne peppers. Beyond their visual charm, they provide a sweet, fruity flavour, making them ideal for salsas and pickling. Originating from China, this heirloom variety thrives in full sun and reaches maturity in approximately 80–90 days. Its compact size makes it perfect for container gardening, adding both beauty and spice to any setting.

The Thunder Mountain Longhorn fascinates me! The chillies are the longest I have ever grown (previously that was the Bangalore Whippets tail). But even before the chillies come through, the plant has a few surprises! The pedicel (part below the flower, joining to the branch) is very long too. The flowers look like they are dripping off the plant. Even better news, these chillies taste great. They have a heat level similar to cayenne, and a lovely taste.

The Cayenne, a classic chilli which tastes fantastic. It is sweet and has a decent amount of spice. These are easy to grow, and are versatile in the kitchen.

Traditionally chilli peppers’ spice level is measured in Scoville Heat Units (SHU). While we will try give a SHU estimates for most of our chilli seeds, we will also be using the Chump-o-Meter which we believe will give a better indication of the amount of heat to expect!

1 on the Chump-O-Meter has practically no spice to it and includes chilli peppers like the Ramiro, Bell Pepper and the Trinidad Perfume.

2 and 3 will be chillies like the Jalapeno, Cayenne and Poblano. These will get your tastebuds tingling from the spice.

4, 5 and 6 include Thai Chillies, Piri Piri and Ring of Fire. You can certainly feel the heat with these ones and will bring on the sweat!

7 and 8 is where things really start to heat up and include chillies like the Habanero, Scotch Bonnet and Fatali. Definitely for the more adventurous!

9 and 10 is where Superhots start to make an appearance, like the Bhut Jolokia (Ghost Pepper), 7Pot Primo and Dorset Naga. Typically at or above 1 million scoville, and will be a challenge for most people!

11 is reserved for the hottest of the hots. Primotali Chocolate and the 7Pot Bubblegum definitely have this rating! These chillies are well above a million scoville and need to be handled with caution!
